Maintaining independence while traveling may be intimidating for some people with disabilities. Alex Jackson, a quadriplegic, created a way that he could unlock hotel doors independently - all you need is your hotel key and a binder clip.

“Taking a regular binder clip on the hotel room key makes it more accessible for me to use.”

Alex uses a regular binder clip and attaches it to the hotel room key. Alex interlaces the hotel room key between his fingers with the binder clip attached to the top of the key.  The binder clip makes it easier for him to grab the hotel room key and keep it stable enough to slide into the card slot.

Watch the video above as Alex demonstrates how he opens an entrance door to the hotel and his individual hotel room.
