Meg Johnson, a quadriplegic with limited hand function, demonstrates how she peels an apple.

Since Meg cannot hold the apple while she cuts she uses a cutting board in her lap. She first cuts the apple into large pieces by gripping the knife with one hand and holding it steady with the other, while pressing down on the apple.

She uses the same movements to peel the apple but does not press down as hard on the knife which slices the peeling from the apple.
