“Wanting to do something is not enough. You also need the opportunity to make it happen.”

Erik is a paraplegic who has used a wheelchair for over 30 years, and he is using technology to allow him to live beyond his limits. Erik has created a skateboard with power wheels he controls with a hand-held remote. On top of the skateboard is a mount for Erik’s wheelchair.

With practice and precision, Erik wheels onto the skateboard, positions his wheels between the metal mounts, pulls the trigger, then speeds away. “I love the new sense of freedom my skateboard has given to me,” he says.
